These are the venues and stadiums that Frankfurt fans could visit during the Europa League season and which are shown on this ring:
The following venues and stadiums can be seen on the ring:
In the knockout round, the first match was in Seville, where Eintracht beat Betis Sevilla 2-1 at the Estadio Bonito Villamarin. One of the other sights from Seville shown here is the 36-metre-high 13th-century fortified tower Torre del Oro.
Afterwards we went with tens of thousands of fans to the Camp Nou, the famous stadium of FC Barcelona, where there was a 3:2 away victory. Perhaps some had time to also see the famous Sagrada Familia, the Gaudi-designed basilica that has been under construction for 140 years.
The semi-final then took place in London, where Eintracht fought out a 2-1 win over West Ham United at the London Stadium. Anyone who was there was sure to have seen the famous memorial The Champions outside the former stadium, commemorating Martin Peters, Geoff Hurst, Bobby Moore and Ray Wilson.
Back in Seville, the unforgettable final against Glasgow Rangers took place on 18 May 2022 at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, which Eintracht finally won 5-4 on penalties. There was a lot of celebrating and flamenco dancing that night.
At the presentation of the Cup on Römerberg, the former Lord Mayor not only embarrassed himself on the balcony of Frankfurt's Römer City Hall. But that only slightly dampened the mood of those celebrating, who also fondly remembered the home games of the Europa League season in Deutsche Bank Park. Of course, as always, Attila the eagle was there as mascot.
In the group stage, Eintracht played Fenerbahce Istanbul at Sükry Saracoglu Stadi. Apart from the 1-1 draw there, the fans who travelled with them were able to see the 6th century Hagia Sophia in the old city.
Frankfurt won 2-1 against Olympiacos Piraeus in the Karaiskakis Stadium, the stadium of Piraeus, the historic port city of Athens, where many took the opportunity to visit the Acropolis.
Out against Royal Antwerp was a 1-0 away win at the Bosuilstadion. The Museum aan de Stroom in the former harbour district was another sight that the Frankfurt fans were able to see on their trip with Eintracht.
